Zentrum für Sonnenenergie- und Wasserstoff-Forschung Baden-Württemberg (ZSW) holds 9 patents in the field of CIGS thin-film solar cells. It achieved certified world record efficiencies for CIGS thin-film solar cells in 2010 (20.1 and 20.3%), 2013 (20.8%), 2014 (21.7%) and 2016 (22.6%), respectively. ZSW has the know-how of both very high-quality small-area cell fabrication and large-area (30 x 30 cm²) inline and multistage CIGS fabrication.

Main infrastructures available to carry out the project research activities include i) CIGS thin-film solar cell process line; ii) CIGS thin-film module line; iii) Materials characterisation for thin-film layers; iv) Solar cell device characterisation; v) Module characterisation; vi) Outdoor testing site.
