INL - International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory
(Coordinator)
INL is an intergovernmental organization dedicated to Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies recognized by the United Nations. Founded in 2006 following a joint agreement between the governments of Portugal and Spain, it currently houses more than 400 people of 35 nationalities and diverse scientific backgrounds.
INL has strong expertise in incorporating passivation and light management strategies in high-efficiency Cu(In,Ga)Se2 solar cells, built in an iterative dynamic way, from optical simulations to top-down and bottom-up nanofabrication methods. Nano- and micro-structuring processes for CIGS solar cells were developed by INL to achieve effective passivating contact and semi-transparency. Moreover, INL counts on a multidisciplinary team with extensive experience in scientific event production and an international network of media partners to ensure communication and dissemination of project results.
The main infrastructures available to carry out the project research activities include:
Setups for optoelectronic characterization
Nanofabrication Facility
Ultra-high vacuum scanning probe microscope
Lumerical Licence
Bruker Icon Dimension atomic force microscope
Advanced electron microscopy facility
